myHood („the App“) is a building and community-management app for apartment residents, property managers and administrators. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.
Data we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text) used to sign you in.
- Building/unit assignment: which building and apartment/unit your account is linked to, and your role (resident, manager, or admin).
- Content you submit: messages, comments, feedback-board suggestions and votes, and any attachments (photos/files) you choose to upload.
- Push notification token: a device identifier issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging, used only to deliver notifications to your device (e.g. new announcements or messages).
- Basic technical data: standard server request logs (IP address, timestamp, app version) used for security and debugging.
How we use this data
Data is used solely to operate the App: authenticating you, showing you content relevant to your building, delivering notifications, and letting you communicate with your building’s residents and management. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Sharing with third parties
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) to deliver push notifications; Google processes the device token needed for that delivery. We do not share your data with any other third party except where required by law.
Data retention & deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your own account at any time, directly in the app (Settings → Delete my account) — no need to contact us. Deletion starts a 3-day grace period during which you can change your mind and cancel; after that, your account is automatically and permanently deleted. Security
All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Authentication uses signed tokens (JWT) rather than storing your password on your device.
Children’s privacy
The App is intended for building residents, managers and administrators and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
